SEO & GEO, CLASSIC SEARCH AND AI SEARCH, IN ONE LAYER

SEO and GEO as an architectural layer of the frontend platform.

Structured data out of the box, performance out of the box, AI audits in the background. Visibility in classic search and in AI answers, automatically.

App Laioutr GEO

SEO is solved, says everyone who's never done it. In reality, the playing field is shifting fast: classic SERPs are losing clicks to AI answers, Google is rolling out AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search is becoming standard. Whoever isn't cited in AI answers disappears, no matter how good the classic SEO was.

At Laioutr, SEO doesn't live in a plugin and GEO doesn't live in an add-on. Both are architecture of the frontend platform: performance out of the box, schema.org automatically, Content Agent for GEO-compliant copy, Insight Agent for continuous audits. One layer, both disciplines.

DEFINITION

SEO, Search Engine Optimization

SEO refers to the optimization of digital content for classic search engines (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo).

Three levers matter most today: technical performance (Core Web Vitals), content quality (relevance, freshness, E-E-A-T), and backlinks. SEO isn't dead, but it's no longer enough on its own.

GEO, Generative Engine Optimization

GEO refers to the optimization of digital content for AI-driven answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude). Three levers matter: structured and factually clear content, authority signals (who gets recognized as a source by LLMs), and machine-readable data (schema.org, llms.txt, clean semantic HTML).

GEO decides whether your brand shows up in AI answers or disappears.

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF OPTIMIZATION

Visibility in classic search and AI search hangs on three levels, and all three run on one platform at Laioutr. Foundation without content gets you nowhere. Content without distribution won't be found. We deliver all three levels from one platform.

Performance, crawlability, semantic HTML, structured data, multi-language hreflang. Without this foundation, none of the other levers take hold, no matter how good the content is.

What Laioutr delivers: server-side rendering, edge delivery, automatic schema.org generation, clean semantic HTML, automated hreflang upkeep, automatic sitemap.xml.

Clear statements, structured headings, factual content, question/answer formats, brand consistency. The layer where SEO and GEO overlap the most.

What Laioutr delivers: Content Agent for SEO-optimized and GEO-compliant content, automatic meta tags, FAQ schema markup, heading validation, brand-voice consistency.

Clean indexability for classic crawlers. Citation-friendly structures for AI crawlers. llms.txt for explicit AI permission. Continuous monitoring of whether content lands.

What Laioutr delivers: robots.txt + llms.txt automatically, Insight Agent for SEO/GEO audits, AI citation tracking, continuous gap analysis.

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF OPTIMIZATION

SEO and GEO are no longer a marketing sprint, they're background processes.

Six capabilities that run in the platform, without anyone having to think about them. SEO goes from a quarterly sprint to a background routine. GEO happens without anyone having to learn "GEO."

Schema.org out of the box

Product, FAQ, Article, Organization, Breadcrumb, How-To, structured data is generated automatically from Studio components and content collections. No manual JSON-LD writing.

Core Web Vitals automatically green

LCP, INP, CLS, all vitals are optimized automatically: edge delivery, image compression, critical-CSS inlining. No manual performance tuning per page.

Content Agent for SEO + GEO

Meta tags, headlines, FAQ copy, and product descriptions are generated automatically, SEO-compliant and GEO-ready. Brand voice stays intact.

Sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt automatically

Sitemap.xml and robots.txt are maintained automatically, including llms.txt (the new standard file for AI crawler control). Indexing happens with no engineering ticket.

Hreflang without conflicts

Per locale, hreflang is set correctly and automatically. Canonical URLs are distributed without conflict. International SEO setups that used to be sprint tasks become a platform standard.

Insight Agent as SEO/GEO watchdog

The Insight Agent continuously checks: where do Core Web Vitals break? Which schema types are missing? Which content gets cited in AI answers? Which doesn't? Reports come weekly.

Structured data out of the box

Schema.org is the bridge between your frontend and all search engines, classic and AI. At Laioutr, schema types are generated automatically from Studio components and content collections.

Schema.org markup is no longer optional today, it's the basic prerequisite for search engines and AI engines to understand content correctly and include it in rich results, AI answers, or featured snippets. Classically, schema markup is hand-maintained per page or generated by plugins, fragile, often faulty, hard to scale. At Laioutr it works differently: Studio components and content collections are already structured (schema-based, with field types).

From that, matching schema.org snippets are rendered automatically, right in the HTML, with no extra JavaScript.

Content Agent × GEO

Classic copy works in classic search. GEO-compliant copy works in AI search. The Content Agent knows both logics and writes for both at once. The Content Agent doesn't produce two versions, one classic and one GEO variant. It writes one text that meets both requirements: keyword-optimized with a clear heading structure, and at the same time factual, definition-strong, and citation-friendly.

The result is copy that ranks on Google and is quoted in AI answers at the same time. Brand voice stays intact: you set the tone and brand guardrails, the agent delivers the iteration. Not generic AI text, but your text in optimized form.

What defines classic SEO copy

  • Keyword optimization (primary + secondary)

  • Optimal text length for the topic

  • Clear heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3)

  • Internal and external linking

  • Meta title and meta description

  • Featured-snippet-ready answers (short, precise)

What GEO copy needs on top

  • Factual statements with clear source cues

  • Definition-strong opening sentences (LLMs love this)

  • Structured question/answer formats

  • Brand consistency (LLMs learn who stands for what)

  • Citation-friendly structure (short, quotable sentences)

  • Authority signals (expertise, experience, certifications)

PERFORMANCE

Core Web Vitals have been a Google ranking factor since 2021. With AI crawlers they matter indirectly, but clearly: fast pages get crawled more deeply and more often, and crawl frequency determines which content is current in AI answers. Performance isn't the end of SEO optimization. it's its beginning.

Largest Contentful Paint, the most important Core Web Vitals metric. At Laioutr it's standard output, not an optimization sprint.

Interaction to Next Paint, interactivity is measured. Edge rendering and lean output keep the metric green.

Cumulative Layout Shift, no jumping, no flicker, even with personalization and A/B tests. Crucial for SEO and user experience.

Multi-language SEO/GEO

Hreflang is the most important technical SEO measure for international setups. At Laioutr, hreflang is generated automatically from your locale configuration, per page, per variant, conflict-free and with no manual upkeep. GEO benefits from multi-language setups too: AI engines like ChatGPT answer differently depending on the language context.

Whoever wants to be citable in several markets needs citation-friendly content in every language. The Content Agent produces these variants in the brand tonality of each language, not a dictionary translation, but text that works locally.

Insight Agent

SEO and GEO aren't "set up once, then let it run" disciplines. What ranks today is outdated tomorrow. What gets cited in AI answers this week is replaced by a better source next week. The Insight Agent is the layer that keeps an eye on that.

USE CASES

Six typical commerce scenarios and how SEO and GEO work at Laioutr in each of them.

Product schema with price, availability, reviews. Description written citation-friendly. Result: visible in Google Shopping, in featured snippets, in ChatGPT answers to the product question.

A seasonal landing page with FAQ schema, clear question-answer structures. Indexing happens in days, not weeks. AI crawlers too pick up the freshness quickly.

A new market? Hreflang automatically, sitemap per locale, local schema variants, content that works locally. Market launches that used to take months are indexable in days.

The Insight Agent detects outdated content. The Content Agent generates refresh suggestions with current data and SEO/GEO optimization. Old authority is preserved, new visibility is gained.

FAQ schema with a question/answer structure is the most direct lever for GEO. The Content Agent creates FAQ content from your product data, structured, factual, citation-friendly.

LLMs learn who stands for what. Consistent brand statements across all pages, products, FAQs, blog, About. The Content Agent ensures consistency, the Insight Agent checks it.

FAQ

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization, the optimization of content for AI-driven answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Claude. Unlike classic SEO (optimization for clicks in the SERP), GEO targets mentions and citations in AI-generated answers. The two disciplines complement each other, GEO doesn't replace SEO, it extends it.

No. Classic SEO stays the foundation, performance, crawlability, schema markup, backlinks. GEO builds on top: additionally citation-friendly content, brand consistency for AI engines, llms.txt upkeep. Do GEO without SEO and you're building on sand. Do SEO without GEO and you're leaving reach on the table.

The Insight Agent can handle AI citation tracking, it watches where your brand appears in AI answers and where it doesn't. Alternatively, there are specialized tools like Profound, Otterly.AI, or peec.ai that we can connect via an app. In the discovery call we show you the current state transparently.

llms.txt is a new standard file (analogous to robots.txt) that explicitly allows or forbids AI crawlers to use your content. At Laioutr, llms.txt is maintained automatically, you configure per area whether AI crawlers should have access. Ignore it and you risk: a) unwanted use of your content, or b) exclusion from AI answers, if the default setting is "forbidden."

Product, Article, FAQ, HowTo, Organization, Breadcrumb, WebSite with SearchAction, LocalBusiness, Event, Review, and AggregateRating, depending on your project's Studio components and content collections. Custom schema extensions are possible, e.g. industry-specific types.

Yes. At Laioutr, search engine crawlers are consistently treated as a single "bucket," they see the default variant. Users see the personalized or test variants. No cloaking risk, no hreflang confusion, no duplicate-content penalty.

LCP under 1.5 s, INP under 200 ms, CLS under 0.1, all vitals kept green automatically. Edge delivery, image compression, critical-CSS inlining run in the background. You don't have to tune page by page.

SEO plugins are add-ons on top of existing frontend architectures, they can only tune what the architecture allows. If the architecture is weak (e.g. performance problems, broken schema), the plugin can't save it. At Laioutr, SEO is an architectural layer, not a plugin. Performance, schema, crawlability are solved out of the box, plugins become superfluous.

Classic keyword tracking isn't primarily our domain, there are specialized tools for that (Sistrix, Ahrefs, Semrush) that we connect via an app. What Laioutr does itself: content gap analysis, performance comparison against industry benchmarks, AI citation tracking.

The foundation (performance, semantic HTML, schema.org) stays stable, it's algorithm-independent. What changes is the content layer (what AI engines prefer, how featured snippets behave). At Laioutr these adjustments happen automatically in the Content Agent and Insight Agent, you don't have to learn yourself what the next algorithm change means.
