DNN Platform
What is DNN Platform?
DNN Platform is an open-source content management system in the CMS category, built on ASP.NET. It is widely used for intranet portals, corporate websites, and community sites, providing a module-based architecture that allows teams to extend functionality without replacing the core platform.
How it works
DNN Platform provides page and content management through a web-based administration interface, with module slots on each page where additional functionality such as forms, galleries, or custom applications can be inserted. Content is stored in a SQL database and served through .NET rendering pipelines. The open-source codebase allows custom module development and theming.
DNN Platform with Laioutr
DNN Platform is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will allow organizations running DNN-managed content to connect their existing content structures to Laioutr's Composable Visual Page Builder, enabling a gradual frontend modernization without a full CMS migration. Teams can route DNN-delivered content through Laioutr's Content Management and Composable Digital Experience Platform layers to achieve composable frontend performance characteristics on top of an established CMS backend.
