On March 5–6, 2026, the OMT Summit celebrated its premiere at a new scale for the first time in Düsseldorf, at the Maritim Hotel, with 2,600 attendees and 150 speakers from across the digital and marketing industry. The largest annual event for the German-speaking online marketing community.

Marcel Thiesies, CEO and co-founder of laioutr, took the stage as a speaker. His talk "The Frontend Shift" put forward a central thesis: The most expensive mistake in performance marketing isn't the campaign, the targeting, or the budget it's the frontend. Backends are being modernized, architectures are going composable, but the frontend remains the bottleneck. Campaigns launch late, changes get stuck in coordination loops for weeks, and every detail requires a ticket.

Marcel's answer: A frontend management platform that empowers marketing and product teams to control content, layouts, and commerce components on their own faster, with less technical dependency, and without giving up the flexibility of a headless architecture.

The OMT Summit 2026 was dominated by themes like AI in marketing, content production with generative models, SEO strategies, and marketing automation exactly the areas where a performant, flexible frontend makes all the difference.
