Acquia

What is Acquia?

Acquia is a digital experience platform built on open-source Drupal, categorised under CMS. It provides cloud-managed Drupal hosting, a content management layer, multisite management, and a set of marketing tools including personalisation, campaign management, and content analytics. It is primarily aimed at enterprise and government digital teams with complex content governance requirements.

How it works

Acquia hosts and manages Drupal environments at scale, providing the editorial interface familiar to Drupal practitioners alongside additional platform services. Content is authored in the Drupal back office and delivered via Drupal's decoupled JSON:API or GraphQL endpoints to headless frontends. Acquia's platform layer adds performance optimisation, security scanning, and automated updates on top of the Drupal core.

Acquia with Laioutr

Acquia is planned for the Laioutr App Store. For teams using Acquia's Content Management layer as their content source, the integration connects that content to the Composable Visual Page Builder, allowing editors to manage structured content in Acquia while page composition and preview happen within the Laioutr environment. Once available, teams can treat Acquia as one content backend within the broader Composable Digital Experience Platform architecture without duplicating content modelling work.
