Arc XP
What is Arc XP?
Arc XP is a cloud-native digital experience platform developed by The Washington Post, offering a headless CMS, audience management, video platform, and commerce capabilities under a single product suite. It is used primarily by media publishers and large-scale content operators who manage editorial workflows at high volume and need a platform that separates content operations from frontend presentation. Arc XP provides APIs for content delivery that any composable frontend layer can consume.
How it works
Arc XP exposes structured content through its Content API, which a composable frontend queries to render articles, pages, and editorial components. On the Composable Visual Page Builder, Arc XP content objects become the data source for page sections and editorial blocks, which editors compose visually within Laioutr without touching the Arc XP admin interface. The Content Management abstraction layer in the Composable Digital Experience Platform normalises Arc XP content responses alongside other CMS sources, enabling multi-source content pages.
Arc XP with Laioutr
Arc XP is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will connect Arc XP's Content API to the Composable Visual Page Builder and the Content Management layer in Laioutr, giving media operators who use Arc XP as their editorial backend a structured path to composable frontend delivery without building a custom API adapter.
