What is Backbase?

Backbase is a digital banking platform that provides a composable architecture for retail banking, business banking, and wealth management digital experiences. It offers pre-built banking journey components, an API layer connecting to core banking systems, and a low-code tooling environment for financial institutions to assemble and manage digital channel experiences. Backbase is used by banks and financial services providers building or modernising their mobile and web banking interfaces.

How it works

Backbase operates as a frontend composition and journey management layer on top of core banking APIs, exposing its own API and widget system for building digital banking UIs. On the Composable Digital Experience Platform, Backbase-managed banking journeys can coexist with editorial and marketing content managed by Laioutr, so that a financial institution can run product marketing pages and onboarding content through Laioutr while the transactional banking interface runs through Backbase. The Composable Headless Frontend provides the shared rendering layer where both content types are assembled into a consistent experience.

Backbase with Laioutr

Backbase is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will connect the Backbase journey and content components to the Composable Digital Experience Platform and Composable Headless Frontend layers in Laioutr, giving financial services operators a path to unified digital experience management across marketing content and transactional banking interfaces.
