What is ButterCMS?

ButterCMS is an API-first headless content management system designed for developer teams who need a lightweight, quickly deployable CMS without the overhead of a full enterprise platform. It provides a blog engine, page types, and a collections API that deliver content as JSON to any frontend framework. Marketing teams use its editor interface to manage content while developers consume the API.

How it works

ButterCMS is planned for the Laioutr App Store. The integration is designed to route ButterCMS content API responses directly into the Composable Visual Page Builder, so editors working in ButterCMS can see their content rendered in Laioutr-managed layouts without additional mapping work. Content Management operations remain in ButterCMS's editor.

Once available, ButterCMS blog posts, pages, and collections become first-class content sources within the Composable Digital Experience Platform. Teams can combine ButterCMS editorial content with commerce data and other API sources in a single frontend composition layer, reducing the number of separate content delivery pipelines.
