Crafter CMS is an open-source, Git-backed content management system in the CMS category. It is designed for developer-author collaboration, offering a headless API delivery model alongside an in-context visual editing environment for content authors who need to preview changes directly on the live page layout.

How it works

Crafter CMS stores content as files in Git repositories, which makes version control, branching, and deployment pipelines familiar to engineering teams. Authors edit structured content via a drag-and-drop studio interface. Content is served through a delivery tier via REST or GraphQL, and the Git-native model enables content promotion between environments with the same tooling used for code.

Crafter CMS with Laioutr

Crafter CMS is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will allow teams to connect Crafter's Git-backed content delivery to Laioutr's Composable Visual Page Builder, so editors benefit from visual assembly while content versioning stays in the familiar Git workflow. The integration also extends Laioutr's Content Management capabilities with Crafter's structured authoring model, making it a viable content source within a broader Composable Digital Experience Platform setup.
