What is Doofinder?

Doofinder is an on-site search and product discovery platform categorised under search and recommendations. It provides an AI-assisted search layer for ecommerce stores that improves result relevance through synonym management, typo tolerance, merchandising rules, and behavioural ranking. It targets mid-market and enterprise retailers that need fast, configurable search without building and maintaining a custom search infrastructure.

How it works

Doofinder indexes the product catalogue via a feed or API and builds a search index that handles natural language queries, filtered navigation, and autocomplete. Search results are ranked using a combination of text relevance, behavioural data, and manually configured boosting rules. Teams interact with the platform through a management interface to tune rules, review analytics, and configure the search layer behaviour.

Doofinder with Laioutr

Doofinder is planned for the Laioutr App Store. On the Agentic Frontend Management Platform, integrating Doofinder through a headless API connection rather than a widget embed allows search result rendering to be handled within Laioutr's composable component layer, preserving layout control and performance on pages where Personalization and commerce data are already composable API calls. Once available, teams using the B2C Growth Kit can coordinate Doofinder search placement and result display within the same Laioutr layout management workflow used for all other page components.
