What is DRACOON?

DRACOON is a German cloud-based enterprise file service and document management platform in the DMS category. It is designed for organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements, offering encrypted file storage and sharing with German data center hosting and compliance with BSI recommendations and ISO 27001 certification.

How it works

DRACOON provides a client-side encrypted file repository accessible via a web interface, desktop sync client, and REST API. Administrators configure granular access permissions at folder level, set retention policies, and manage audit logs centrally. The platform supports virus scanning on upload, version history, and integration with Microsoft Office for in-browser document editing.

DRACOON with Laioutr

DRACOON is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will allow teams to surface DRACOON-stored documents and media assets through Laioutr's Composable Digital Experience Platform, for example making compliance documents or product materials accessible on customer-facing pages without moving files out of the sovereign storage environment. The Content Management layer in Laioutr can reference DRACOON assets by API, keeping file governance and frontend publication as separate concerns with a clean handoff.
