What is Emarsys / SAP Engagement Cloud?

Emarsys, now part of SAP as SAP Engagement Cloud, is a marketing automation platform focused on omnichannel customer engagement. It combines a customer data platform with automation workflows for email, SMS, push notifications, and web personalisation. The platform is used by retail and e-commerce operators to orchestrate lifecycle marketing programmes, from onboarding sequences to win-back campaigns, using behavioural and transactional data.

How it works

Emarsys ingests contact and event data via API or connector, builds audience segments in its CDP layer, and triggers campaign flows across channels. Within a Composable Digital Experience Platform, the Emarsys personalisation signals are available to the Content Management layer, so that web pages managed in Laioutr can display segment-specific content aligned with the active email campaign. The Personalization module in Laioutr acts as the rendering layer for those signals on the storefront.

Emarsys / SAP Engagement Cloud is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will bridge the Personalization and Content Management layers in Laioutr with the Emarsys campaign engine, so that campaign audience definitions made in Emarsys apply consistently to both email sends and storefront content without duplicating segment logic.
