Magnolia

What is Magnolia?

Magnolia is a Java-based enterprise content management system categorised under CMS. It provides a visual authoring environment, multi-site management, digital asset management, and a headless content delivery API. Magnolia is positioned for enterprise teams that need structured content governance alongside composable frontend delivery across multiple brands or markets.

How it works

Magnolia stores content in a hierarchical JCR repository and exposes it through REST delivery APIs. Authors work in a WYSIWYG editing interface that can be connected to headless frontend previews. The platform supports content inheritance across multi-site hierarchies, enabling shared content models to propagate across brand and market variants while allowing local editorial overrides where needed.

Magnolia with Laioutr

Magnolia is planned for the Laioutr App Store. For enterprise teams managing multi-brand or multi-market content in Magnolia, the integration provides a path to use that structured content within the Composable Visual Page Builder, with page composition and component assembly handled in the Laioutr environment. Once available, Magnolia becomes one structured Content Management source in the broader Composable Digital Experience Platform architecture that Laioutr orchestrates at the frontend layer.
