Saleor
What is Saleor?
Saleor is a headless, open-source commerce platform categorised under ecommerce backends. Built with Python and a GraphQL-first architecture, it provides product management, checkout, payment orchestration, and order management through a fully queryable API surface. It is particularly used by developer-led teams building custom commerce experiences on composable stacks.
How it works
Saleor exposes all commerce operations through a GraphQL API, allowing frontend teams to compose exactly the data shapes needed for each view. Checkout flows, product variants, and storefront channel configurations are managed via mutations and queries. The open-source codebase allows teams to extend or self-host the platform where data sovereignty requirements demand it.
Saleor with Laioutr
Saleor is planned for the Laioutr App Store. For teams on the Composable Headless Frontend, the Saleor integration provides a direct GraphQL channel into commerce data, eliminating REST translation layers that add latency and maintenance overhead. Once available, teams working toward B2C Growth Kit outcomes can combine Saleor's flexible product and checkout model with the Composable Digital Experience Platform to deliver measurably faster, more maintainable storefronts.
