SAP Commerce Cloud is an enterprise-grade commerce platform categorised under ecommerce backends. It provides product content management, a pricing and promotions engine, customer account management, and order management for large-scale B2C and B2B operations. It is widely deployed by enterprise retail and manufacturing organisations with complex catalogue, multi-market, and fulfilment requirements.

How it works

SAP Commerce Cloud exposes commerce data through OCC REST APIs and the newer Commerce Composable Architecture APIs. Frontend teams use these endpoints to retrieve product listings, customer data, and cart and order information. The platform handles backend processes including tax calculation, fulfilment routing, and multi-warehouse inventory management without requiring frontend-layer orchestration.

SAP Commerce Cloud with Laioutr

SAP Commerce Cloud is planned for the Laioutr App Store. For enterprise teams already invested in SAP on the backend, the integration provides a path to modernise the frontend layer through the Composable Headless Frontend without rearchitecting the commerce core. Once available, teams can pair SAP Commerce Cloud's data depth with Laioutr's Composable Digital Experience Platform and B2C Growth Kit capabilities to reduce time-to-market on frontend-layer changes while preserving backend stability.
