What is Scayle?

Scayle is a headless commerce backend developed by About You, offering catalog management, order management, and inventory capabilities through APIs. It is designed for fashion and lifestyle retailers operating multiple storefronts across markets, providing multi-brand and multi-warehouse logic within a single platform. Scayle follows an API-first architecture, meaning the frontend layer is fully decoupled and can be built independently using any composable frontend stack.

How it works

Scayle exposes GraphQL and REST APIs that a composable frontend consumes to render product listings, cart, and checkout flows. On the Composable Headless Frontend, Laioutr connects to the Scayle product and order APIs, mapping catalogue data to the component model. The Composable Digital Experience Platform layer then handles editorial content, campaign pages, and personalisation on top of the Scayle commerce data, so that teams operating the B2C Growth Kit can run campaigns and storefront updates without touching the commerce backend.

Scayle is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will be accessible as a pre-built connector within the Composable Headless Frontend, reducing the integration effort for fashion and lifestyle operators who already run Scayle as their commerce backend and want to adopt Laioutr for the frontend layer.
