Strapi

What is Strapi?

Strapi is an open-source headless content management system built on Node.js. It provides a self-hosted content API with a configurable data model, role-based access control, and a web-based content editor. Teams use Strapi to manage structured content that is consumed by frontends, mobile apps, or other services via REST or GraphQL endpoints, without being tied to a proprietary CMS vendor.

How it works

Strapi operates as a content backend that the Composable Visual Page Builder queries to pull structured content blocks, product descriptions, or editorial articles into page layouts. Within the Composable Digital Experience Platform, Strapi serves as one of the pluggable content sources alongside other CMS or PIM systems, feeding data through Laioutr's Content Management abstraction layer. Editors working in Laioutr see the content fields from Strapi surfaced within the visual editor interface, without needing to switch between systems.

Strapi with Laioutr

Strapi is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will connect to the Content Management layer and to the Composable Visual Page Builder, allowing teams that self-host their content infrastructure on Strapi to use Laioutr as the visual composition and delivery layer without migrating their content model.
