Sylius

What is Sylius?

Sylius is an open-source e-commerce framework built on Symfony and PHP, providing a flexible product catalogue, order management, and checkout architecture that developers extend through its plugin system. It is used by development teams that want full control over the commerce backend code, including custom business logic, without the constraints of a proprietary platform. Sylius follows an API-first approach, making it compatible with decoupled frontend architectures.

How it works

Sylius exposes its commerce data through REST and GraphQL APIs, which a composable frontend consumes to render product pages, cart, and checkout. Laioutr provides a Headless Frontend for Sylius that maps these API responses to the Laioutr component model on the Composable Headless Frontend. Above this, the Composable Digital Experience Platform layer manages editorial content, landing pages, and campaign layouts independently from the Sylius backend, so that marketing teams can iterate on the storefront presentation without touching the PHP codebase.

Sylius with Laioutr

Sylius is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, the integration will formalise the connection between Sylius API responses and the Composable Headless Frontend component model, providing development teams with a documented connector path rather than a custom integration for teams already using Sylius as their commerce backend.
