What is Syte?

Syte is a visual AI platform for product discovery in fashion, home, and lifestyle e-commerce. It enables shoppers to search by image rather than text, uploading a photo or cropping a region of interest to find visually similar products in a catalogue. The platform uses a computer vision model trained on product imagery to generate visual embeddings and match queries against the indexed catalogue in real time.

How it works

Syte integrates with a product catalogue through a feed import process that generates visual embeddings for each product image during indexing. A camera or image upload component in the storefront sends query images to Syte's API, which returns ranked product matches with confidence scores. The same embedding layer powers automated tag generation, enabling text-based search to query attributes extracted from images rather than relying only on manually entered product metadata.

Syte with Laioutr

Syte is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will add visual discovery as a complementary channel alongside the text-based Personalization features of the Agentic Frontend Management Platform. Merchants using the B2C Growth Kit can activate camera search and similar-product recommendations on product detail pages without building or maintaining a custom computer vision pipeline.
