Terminalfour

What is Terminalfour?

Terminalfour is a web content management system designed for higher education institutions. It manages structured content across multi-site university and college web presences, with workflows built around academic publishing requirements including multi-level approval, section-based access control, and regulatory accessibility compliance. The platform handles content in multiple languages and supports the complex information architectures that characterise large institutional websites.

How it works

Terminalfour organises content in a section tree that maps to the published site structure. Each section and page type has a configurable template and metadata schema, and content editors work within defined structure types rather than free-form editors. Workflow states, approvals, and publish schedules are configurable per section. Content is delivered through its own rendering layer or via an API for headless frontend consumption from external presentation layers.

Terminalfour with Laioutr

Terminalfour is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will connect to the Composable Visual Page Builder and the Content Management capabilities of the Composable Digital Experience Platform, enabling institutions to extend Terminalfour-managed content to modern frontend delivery stacks. Teams that need to modernise frontend presentation without migrating away from Terminalfour's editorial governance model can use this integration to deliver composable page experiences from existing content structures.
