What is VTEX?

VTEX is a cloud-native commerce platform that covers storefront, order management, marketplace, and fulfilment capabilities within a single platform. It serves enterprise retailers and brands operating complex multi-channel commerce models, including direct-to-consumer, marketplace, and B2B scenarios. VTEX provides APIs for frontend decoupling, enabling teams to replace the native storefront with a custom composable frontend while retaining the commerce and fulfilment logic.

How it works

VTEX exposes its catalogue, cart, checkout, and order management through APIs that a headless frontend layer consumes. Laioutr offers a Headless Frontend for VTEX that maps these APIs to the Composable Headless Frontend component model. The Composable Digital Experience Platform then sits above, handling editorial content, personalisation, and campaign pages managed by marketing teams independently from the VTEX backend. This separation allows frontend iterations to happen at marketing velocity without requiring VTEX backend deployments.

VTEX with Laioutr

VTEX is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, it will provide a formalised connector between the VTEX commerce APIs and the Composable Headless Frontend, complementing the existing Headless Frontend for VTEX documentation and giving enterprise teams a structured integration path for decoupling the storefront presentation from the VTEX backend.
