WP Engine

What is WP Engine?

WP Engine is a managed WordPress hosting and developer platform that provides optimised infrastructure for WordPress sites alongside developer tooling for local development, staging environments, and deployment pipelines. It targets agencies and enterprise teams that build and maintain multiple WordPress properties and need a standardised platform for development, testing, and production deployment. For teams using a Composable Digital Experience Platform, WP Engine can serve as the managed hosting layer for WordPress instances that act as headless content sources.

How it works

WP Engine's infrastructure is tuned for WordPress performance, including full-page caching, server-side optimisation, and a CDN layer that handles static asset delivery. The developer toolchain includes WP Engine's Local development environment and a Git-based deployment flow that pushes changes through staging before reaching production. WordPress sites hosted on WP Engine expose content through the WordPress REST API and WPGraphQL, making Content Management data available to the Composable Visual Page Builder and other composable frontend layers without additional infrastructure configuration.

WP Engine with Laioutr

WP Engine is planned for the Laioutr App Store. Once available, WordPress instances hosted on WP Engine will connect to the Laioutr Composable Digital Experience Platform as managed content sources, enabling teams to route Content Management data from WP Engine-hosted WordPress sites into Laioutr frontend compositions. The Composable Visual Page Builder will consume WP Engine content through the standard WordPress content API, and deployment workflows on WP Engine will remain independent of the Laioutr frontend delivery layer.
