Behind the Scenes: Building a Modern eCommerce Frontend Live with Shopify & Laioutr
We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at our latest video “Click to Checkout: Live Build with Shopify & Laioutr” (📺 Watch it here). In this session, we teamed up with Markus from Datrycs to do something bold: build a fully functional, high-performance eCommerce storefront, from blank canvas to checkout, using Shopify as the backend and Laioutr as the frontend layer, all in under two hours.
Why We Did This
Our goal was to demonstrate that modern commerce doesn’t require months of frontend engineering before you can go live. Even complex product datasets, intricate category structures, and global scaling concerns can be handled when your architecture is composable, API-driven, and built on top of robust tools. By doing it live, we wanted to show the real-time decisions, tradeoffs, and engineering steps, not just a polished final product.
