Why SAP CC Storefronts Feel Clunky and How to Modernize Without a Full Replatform

Anyone who regularly tests SAP Commerce Cloud storefronts on mobile knows the word that keeps showing up in studies and customer feedback. Clunky. Heavy. Slow. That is not just a gut feeling. Recent market research shows that a significant majority of SAP CC customers see user experience as the main construction site of their platform. The good news. You do not need a full platform swap to fix it.

What clunky actually means

When customers describe a storefront as clunky, they rarely mean a single symptom. They mean a bundle of effects that together produce an unrefined feel. Four of them show up most often.

The second most common mistake is the big bang migration. Trying to swap everything at once ties up the team for over a year without visible interim results. Stakeholders lose patience, and the project comes under political pressure.
